Cut to the chase,
Cut to the heart,
Cut to the feeling.

In July of 2009, while my eyes were glued to Lady Gaga's Pokerface music video playing on a wall of display TVs, my mum bought me a Crayola Digital Camcorder.

This career path was an inevitable consequence of that moment.

I'm now a filmmaker with a passion for deep story-telling in work that chases the edge of "the norm", but keeps real human experience as its anchor.
I found my passion for writing on roleplay forums as a tween, creating wild collaborative storylines characters inspired by my favourite fantasy novels, sci-fi comics, and Dr Who episodes.
That Crayola camera came with a free editing software that I used to cut together memories and skits, and media studies assignments in school fertilised my fascination for experimenting with footage.

After graduating with my Bachelor of Screen Arts from Massey University in 2023, I have pursued a variety of roles across all stages of production, focusing mainly on roles that intersect with as many departments as possible; such as AC work, PA, and directorial department roles.
I love being a go-fetcher, a go-getter, and a pair of helping hands on a production.

Film's constant dialogue between technical boundaries and creative ambition is what draws me to the medium. I take a holistic and human ecology based approach to my work, with a strong foundation of healthy labour practices and working dynamics that go on to foster personal fulfilment and artistic achievement.
As an editor, this means I understand your project as more than just pieces in an assembly line, I know every stage of production intimately, and I will take on the responsibility of shaping your story with the care that it deserves.

I'm drawn to stories that leave room for the audience to participate, either through provocation or invitation. Work isn't finished until the audience interacts with it, so I always want to give them something to chew on. Respect for the future audience is foundational to my selection of projects and creative choices throughout my process.

As a young filmmaker that is still finding their voice, I find comfort in knowing that questions are more valuable to the creative process than answers.
The question I'm currently focused on now is: what parts of being human are immovable, and what parts of our culture's subconscious are waiting to be brought to the surface?

I am staunchly against the use of Generative AI, and only use AI in assistive roles.
I will not participate in generative AI projects, or contribute my work to generative AI databases.
